  1. For any place you choose to sell your items on, be it Etsy, designstolove, ecrater's free website or whatever, you must market it.  It doesn't help to list items on a free site if you aren't promoting it.  I spend more time promoting my site than I do actual crafting some days.

The first place to start is to submit your website to the search engines.  Just do a search on "search engine submission"  and with paper and pen in hand to keep track, start submitting.  Remember not to submit more than once to a site or search engine - it will be considered spam and will result in them excluding your from their searches.  And if the bots don't crawl your site then you are just up that creek without the paddle.

Then with a notebook and pen to keep careful notes with - do a search on free ads.  There are tons of them, including Craig's list and Lycros.  Some site require a membership and they will have expiration dates.  hence the notebook and pen.  When mine expire, I ad a new listing.

The free ads alone will get you a lot of returns on your site.

Also list in free galleries like craftersbuzz.com and designstolove.com and lov.li.com

It's free and it's easy and craftersbuzz will distribute your site around their many sites for even further exposure.

    Good luck and happy sales!

  2. you might want to try selling on etsy (www.etsy.com) and having a link to your website. a lot of people got there and buy hand-crafted items

also, try www.craftster.org and go to the business section for info on running a crafty type business

  3. You might check with your local Small Business Association they have retired business owners who help people start their own business and how to set it up.
