Artur Moraes wants to win trophies with Benfica – Portuguese Primeira Liga News
Benfica’s Brazilian goalkeeper, Artur Moraes, says that he is enjoying his start to the new season and is hoping that the Portuguese giants will finally be able to lift silverware in May.
30-year-old Artur has made a terrific start to the new 2011/2012 campaign, with impressive performances in the UEFA Champions League being the undoubted highlight.
Speaking to reporters, the shot-stopper revealed that his great form was the result of his efforts on the training field.
"I prepared myself to have this very strong start and with great confidence," he said.
With Benfica now building on solid displays, the current season is looking very promising for the Eagles and they could well end it on a high note with some much needed silverware. It is something that Artur desperately craves, as he hasn’t been able to
get his hands on a winner’s medal in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984.
“It must be an amazing feeling. Being a champion for this club should be an amazing feeling. We are all with this thought. Some say it feels very good but I haven’t felt it.”
Although being one of the best players in his position in the league at the moment, the former Braga man has shrugged off claims that it is all his doing and said that his teammates have played a major role in getting him to form.
"I think the team really helped me as a goalkeeper, alone I cannot do much. We are all to be congratulated for beginning that we have had,” http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Artur-c6727 Moraes was quoted as saying.
While the Lisbon outfit and the people associated with it harbour grandiose ambitions of reaching the pinnacle of Portuguese football, they are countered with forces of their rivals, who have strengthened over the summer.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 and Sporting Lisbon are the other title contenders, armed with a plethora of talented players to take on any opponent. But the Portistas have had a major outflow of quality, while the Lions are still a team in the making, meaning that Benfica can
easily cruise to victory if they keep up their good form.
