Arturo Badillo: I will knock Jose Cayetano out in just the fifth round – Boxing News
Arturo Badillo, the former number one contender for the WBA World super flyweight title, in a recent media interaction bashed his Saturday night opponent Jose Cayetano, and commented that he will knock him out in the fifth round adding that Jose would be
unable to cope up with my pace.
The above duo will collide with each other in the main card being headlined by the WBO minimumweight title bout between Moises Fuentes and Julio Cesar Felix and the ring for the bout will be set up at Jai Alai Fronton in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico.
The showdown, being organised and promoted by Fernando Beltran of Promociones Zanfer, will be co-headlined by the non-title 10-round bout between Daniel Rosas and Enrique Bernache and the show will be televised live on Azteca channel.
Arturo participated in the pre-bout press conference and adopted a sheer aggressive stance. The 24-year-old has been in a total 23 bouts and emerged victorious in 20. The young Mexican lad has collected 18 of his total wins by knockout and possesses a pretty
powerful jab that can stun even the best men in the division.
Despite the fact that he possesses an impressive resume, Arturo is currently going through a tough phase of his career. Also known as ‘Fuerte’, the orthodox Arturo has collected two of his total three losses in his last two bouts.
Therefore, to some extent, the current encounter can also be dubbed as a golden chance for Arturo to make a comeback on the win track. Jose, Arturo’s Saturday night opponent, has been in a total 12 bouts and emerged victorious in 11.
Also known as ‘The Tigre’, Jose collected his career’s only loss from Ruben Tamayo and since then he has entered the ring once against debutant Edson Ramirez. Arturo while sharing his thoughts commented, “You have been a fighter that has been taken care
of your whole career and when you have faced tough fighters, you have lost. This time the same thing is going to happen. You are going to lose against a real fighter.”
Arturo further added, “I have the experience and the strength. I am going to attack from the beginning and you are going to be able to keep up with me or take my power, I am going to knock you out before the fifth round.”
The eight-round bout will be a tough one and it is definitely a unique chance for Arturo to return to the win track and further move up in the rankings.
