Question:

Arturo Godoy v Oscar Bonavena?

Arturo gave Joe Louis such a close fight in 1940 that many thought he had won and he got an immediate rematch. He also beat Tony Galento twice and Tommy Loughran in one of their three battles (these ended up one each with one drawn). He had ended the career of Luis Firpo "the Raging Bull of the Pampas" in 1936, putting him down 9 times in 4 rounds.

Bonavena went the distance with Frazier twice, dropping him twice before losing a split decision in their first fight. He went 15 rounds with Ali before being stopped and also beat Zora Folley in their second fight.

So who wins this South American Championship, with both in their prime?

  1. Great fight but i say Bonavena wins a hard fought close  unanimous decision.

  2. Very tough fight as these guys are almost mirror images of each other.  I believe that Bonavena would win a split decision
