Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal is looking forward to winning the UEFA Champions League with his current club.
The player admitted that his side has been fantastic in domestic competitions and now wants the side to perform in the continental championship.
Vidal had a sensational season last term as he scored an impressive 15 times in the 45 games he took part in all competitions. The former Bayer Leverkusen man was instrumental in leading his side to the league win in the last campaign and was one of their
most important players.
The Chilean international admitted that the season ended was the best in his career and he wants to build on the performances. The midfielder stated that he won his second Scudetto in two years since joining Juventus and has now set his sights on performing
well in Europe’s premier club competition.
Vidal stated that his side cannot afford to be complacent at any cost as the other teams in Serie A are spending highly to strengthen their squads. The player is keen to achieve more success with his current side and is looking forward to the upcoming campaign.
“This season has been the best of my career so far. I found the perfect conditions in Turin. You must keep on winning in football, though. I want another Scudetto, a Coppa Italia and the Champions League. You should always be looking at new goals. You can
never get complacent,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 26-year-old added that he wants to win more trophies with Juventus in the years to come and is confident that the team will perform well in Europe next season.
“The two Scudetti and Italian Supercup are my only trophies with Juventus so far, so there is still room for the Champions League,” he concluded.
Juventus reached the quarter-final of the UEFA Champions League last season. They lost out to Bayern Munich after losing 2-0 in each leg and were disappointing in both the fixtures. The Germans went on to win the competition as they downed local rivals Borussia
Dortmund at the Wembley Stadium in London.
