im doing art as a GCSE and as exam prep i need to choose a subject from a set list, i have to do 2 observation pages, 2 media pages, some padding out pages and 2 linked artist pages at least.

Ive chosen 'expressive faces', so far i've done my two observation pages (a collage of faces & faces in frames that ive drawn) but i really need some inspiration or help.

i dont know what to do as 'media' pages (using different materials to gain more marks basically), and i have no idea who to use as my linked artist.

i have to find an artist who in some way produces expressive faces, through photos, painting, sculpture etc, and make it link to my final idea for the exam, which is a person stuck inside a mirror.

any artist ideas welcome, any creative ideas welcome, any anything welcome!!! i just need help!

thank yooouuu!!!

  1. Check out Chuck Close.

  2. You may disagree, but to me that whole premise cries out for Andy Warhol.  At least check him out.  He was a portrait artist who was personally obsessed with image in all its forms.

edit) Annie Leibovitz is another person that you might want to look into.  I'm still sold on Andy though.  I even thought about your question at work today. (I know, I know, get a life, but I have a boring job and I answered you right before I went.)
