I'm planning on going to Aruba this summer. When's the best time to go? It's going to be 5 girls, so where should we stay? How many days is good enough for Aruba? Any recommendations? Any other islands better than Aruba?

Thanks!

  1. I would check out apple vacations for the Tamarijn Aruba All Inclusive resort.  You could probably get two rooms next to each other.  It's close to town (just $2 for a bus ride) so it's easy to go out to Carlos and Charlies and other clubs.  It's a low rise hotel so it stretches along the beach and your rooms open up right onto the beach.  I went in July, but it wasn't unbearably hot because it's dry like a desert there and it's always windy.  I would say 7 days is good for Aruba.  The Kookoo Kunuku bar hopping bus and/or the banana bus is fun, also the Jeep Safari Tour is a good time.  If you end up staying at an All-inclusive, I would still pick one night to go to town and have dinner at an Aruban restaurant such as El Gaucho if you're into steak.  There are many other delicious restaurants as well.

  2. aruba has the same weather all year around average 88 degrees, sunny, hardly and rain. its really nice there cause its not so hot that it makes you sweat. i went there for spring break for 6 days and stayed at the marriot. you can go horsebackriding, scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, wind/kite surfing etc really fun :)

  3. Aruba is an UGLY island. Windswept and barren, newpapers and plastic bags stuck to Divi Trees. At the south end is a big oil refinery. The east end is a rocky desert. The north central western shore is where the hotels are.

Go to Turks and Caicos, Cayman Islands, or Bermuda instead. I know Bermuda is not in the Carribean, but it's a beautiful island.

  4. I Love this island....it's people and the nightlife. best time? Sept.- Oct. not tourist season, not too hot, not rainy season yet.

5 girls rent a condo or an apt. some include a car for your use, just be sure to get a location near the beach for your daytime enjoyment. Evenings, you'll drive to clubs and casinos or rent a cab. see http://www.rentalo.com

Daytime? enjoy Baby's Beach, sun and snorkeling even for the faint hearted, the water is only waist deep and feels like a bathtub then have drinks at the Coco Beach Bar and Grill on the sand. Cheaper to eat here than at the hotel side of the island.

La Cabana (timeshare/codos) http://www.lacabanabrc.com/ has fantastic happy hour 4:30-7 live music 2 for 1 drinks and the people are great. The Mill from 7:30 to 9:30pm does too.

Nightlife, try Garufa (in Orangestaad) 11p.m til 4 am (at times) on Saturday night for the best Caribbean band on the island...the style of Shakira...Much Fun but $$. Carlos and Charlies aways happening with plenty more to do in the downtown area in the casinos. Chaos is a great club that caters more to the Dutch clientel is loads of fun

Anything in the hotel area is $$$. Venture into Orangestaad for better $.

The island has a special police force (since before Halloway) that patrols the hotel beach areas for the tourist safety. Don't leave things in your car, we used to leave our cars running, not anymore-they joyride and steal cameras. It is a safe and fun vacation spot. Just be aware anything can happen in any country and you will have a favorite vacation spot for life!

  5. Before you go to Aruba, look up the story of Natalie Holloway.

  6. Jan/feb that month is carnival time (parade) and july aruba is full with people but the weather is great nice white sand beaches nice place too visit  great night life great food nice people aruba is a small island  and its easy too know and allot of place too explore but it bring your sun block your shades it have mosquito also!! so watch out it have allot of things too do games party casino clubs is allot hope u enjoy your self when i was there i had a blast!!

  7. re "Natalie Holloway" - just avoid getting drunk and going alone with strangers and you'll probably be OK.

Since there are five of you, you might consider an apt/condo.  Check out HomeAway.com.  Also, the #1 rated place in Aruba at TripAdvisor.com has kitchen facilities and extra room.
