We are looking to visit a tropical destination in Sept, Oct or Nov - so far our vacation share only has properties avail in Aruba. The flights seem so expensive - $800 from Dallas/Ft. Worth to Oranjestad.

Is this right?

  1. It depends a lot on the date, etc.  Try Kayak.com or Orbitz.com.

  2. As others have said about right. Try to fly mid-week to possibly bring it down some.

  3. yeah air price definitely depends on the date you are going....if your dates are flexible try and go mid week to mid week- thats gonna give you the best airfare, but yes like if your leaving on a sat and returning on a sat its gonna be quite expensive...just do some research and try to be flexible on dates

  4. .my husband and i are going to Aruba august 30 for 8 days 7 nts, and the air alone with a direct flight from ny is 500.00 a person, aruba, is pretty far, its very close to south America and Venezuela, it also seems to be one of the more expensive island but everyone had given it the best of reviews, from fa,ily friends and what i have read on line

  5. $800 is a common average for flights from DFW to tha part of the Caribbean. I am studying in Waco and often fly home from DFW to Curacao, which is next to Aruba.

If you search for flights on expedia and other such sites, and if you do not mind 1 or 2 stops, you can get flights from DFW to Aruba starting at around $550 on limited days.

Do remember that American, Delta Continental, US Airways and United serve Aruba with flights from DFW with only one stop.

    Enjoy your trip.

  6. If you can fly mid week it's alot cheaper with just one stop.

USAIR and AA have the best prices. $555 to $617 with taxes flying in September. If you fly Sat to Sat the prices for Sept travel are around $650 with taxes. A little more.

Check this site for prices. It compares about 10 plus sites for prices. But I would check AA  website since Dallas is their hub and I'm sure they have plenty of flights.

If you find something on bookingbuddy, always check the airline website, sometimes they are cheaper.

Good Luck and keep checking everyday till you find something you can live with.)
