Arul Suppiah, the spinner of Somerset, has earned ‘Cricket World County Player of The Week’ award for his marvellous bowling performances in the ongoing Friends Life T20 tournament of the English County Cricket. He grabbed 6 wickets for 5 runs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784
in a South Group game last week.
He broke the 6/14 record of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Suppiah’s marvllous bowling led his side to win the game by 5 wickets on Tuesday, July 5 at Sophia Garadens, Cardiff.
The spinner bowled 3.4 overs, game away 5 runs and bagged 6 wickets with an economy rate of 1.36. Among 6 wickets, four were catch-out, one was clean bowled and one was stump-out.
Talking to the media about his glorious feat, Suppiah said, “The match didn't finish until quite late – then we got on the bus and I went straight to bed when I got home. But my phone kept going off during the night and again when I woke up. I had no idea
I had broken any records at the time. I even found out later that I was twice on a hat-trick as well – but I only remember the second one.”
He further told, “It's a great feeling. And, although records are there to be broken, hopefully I will be able to hold onto the record for a while yet – or even for ever."
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Somerset-c843’s coach, director and captain are much delighted at this tremendous achievement by one of their bowlers. They consider it as a matter of pride for the club.
