Arundhati Pantawane moves into main round of 2013 Singapore Open – Badminton news
Women’s Singles expert Arundhati Pantawane of India stretched her winning streak in Li Ning Singapore Open and marched into main round on Tuesday, June 18, 2013.
She locked horns with a native shuttler Xiaoyu Liang and this meeting prolonged to 30 minutes before ending with final figures of 21-14 and 21-16. The Indian campaigner established a strong grip over the game by winning first set and then served the notice
of her supremacy also in the following game.
On the other hand, the Xiaoyu Liang put a below par performance and disappointed the Singaporean badminton lover.
The battle heated up when Arundhati unleashed a flurry of power packed strokes and gained a decent advantage in first set of match. She pushed her rival in all areas of the court and bagged many valuable points.
She played flawless badminton in next couple of rallies and piled up a decent total way before the announcement of one-minute break. She maintained that upper hand successfully and registered a convincing margin of 11 at half time.
After the mid-game break, she had to face little bit resistance from the local shuttler. Xiaoyu Liang aroused her supporters’ hopes by prevailing in few consecutive rallies. However, she could not go with same flow in next couple of rallies and knelt down.
Meanwhile, Arundhati showed a strong character in pressure situation and tipped the scale in her favour with a concluding figure of 21-14.
The talented Indian shuttler relished full benefits of her form even in the second set of match. She started the beating immediately in the beginning and kept her rival grounded all the way to game point situation.
Arundhati did not give her competitor even a single counterattack opportunity and sent her packing with a staggering knock. At first, she mounted pressure by piling up a decent total of 11 and then doubled the impact in third quarter of set.
She looked in supreme touch throughout this segment of showdown and she proved herself superior in all departments of game. She placed a winning margin of 21-16 and qualified for the main round of Singapore Open.
