Aryan Race??

I was skimming through my history text book today waiting for class to start; it refered to 'Aryans' being of nordic/slavic descent. I always thought that Aryans were mainly Indo-European (persian) and some indian/afghan/pakistani tribes?

Aryan is a Sanskrit word meaning 'Noble' person.

Sanskrit was an ancient language spoken in India.

Ethnologists today, believe that the word Aryan is synonimous with native speakers of Indo-European languages.

That makes white Europeans (though not all) their descendents as well as Iranians and north Indians, Aryans.

Your text book's definition is the standard definition that was prevailing in the western world and was popularised by Hitler.

As an ethnic Indian myself, i feel that Hitler and his followers abused the concepts like Aryan race and the Swastika and it is indeed sad to see some people still abiding to his racist definition.

In  Conclusion-Nords,Slavs,Celts,Latins.Germ... Albanians,Armenians, Persians and Indo-Aryans are all Aryan daughter tribes

The old theory was that the Aryans arose originally in the Pakistan area and spread out into Northern Europe, getting blond in the process. It's not accurate.

Well Actually both you and the Book are Correct .

Aryans Used to Stay in Persian Land (ofcourse it wasnt named Persian by that Time)

But a Group of them Decided to Migrate and went to where  Yurope ls , they Other Part Stayed .

Right Now Both German And Persian Race Are Counted as Aryan (For Example Iran means Land of Arya )

But Becasue all of these Years and getting mixed up with other Races , Phyzically They Look Quite Diffirnet .
