  1. Hawaii.

It's the American equivalent of Southend-on-Sea.

  2. Americans don't realise that theirs is not in the only country in the world.  They're not the brightest or most cultured beings, are they!?

  3. I onced asked an American why his countrymen dont travel the world like say us Brits do. He reckoned that because of the work ethic in the USA they dont recieve the same amount of holiday time as we do and therefore most Americans really couldnt take 2 or 3 weeks off to travel long distances so with the limited time they do get they choose to make the most of what is on their doorstep, and lets face it its a pretty big doorstep. From what i could tell most couldnt care less where they went as long as they were with their family and had time to let off steam.

  4. In Northern California, Yosemite Valley is very popular, as is San Francisco. We also see many Europeans and other visitors when we go there.

  5. Ahhh, Dixieland. (The deep south.)

  7. NYC= New York City,  Statue of Liberty

American Civil War Historic Trail  includes Harpers Ferry.

    Chicago --- Take Route 66

    Gracelands  Memphis TN

    Disney World Orlando  Florida

    Florida Keys

Washington DC Smithsonian Institute (Space Museum), The White House, Lincoln memorial and other Capital attractions

The Alamo.  The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas,  Aspen

    San Francisco cable cars,

Hollywood, LA Knotts Berry farm,   Disneyland,  San Diego

    Hawaii

  8. Everyone has a preference of their own.  There are amusement parks like Disneyland and Disney World.  There are places for music like Grand Ole Opry or Branson, Missouri.  There are music festivals like the Blind Lemon Music Festival in Wortham, TX.  There are huge national parks and forests, like Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Yellowstone; Stone Mountain, where you can camp or rv, or just visit for a day trip.  There are Civil War battlefields.  There are beaches like Miami and South Padre Island.  There is surfing in California.  There is skiing and snowboarding in Colorado, Vermont, New York, etc.  I can't tell you what are the most popular.  Like I said, it all depends upon what YOU want to see.  But, rest assured, whatever it is you want to see or do....it is here.

Edit:  Aside to bronnimo:  Actually, I have been all over the world, and I have probably seen and done more than you, three times over.  The fact is, I just prefer my homeland.  I assume you prefer yours?

  9. The Grand Canyon, Niagra Falls, Washington D.C., the Pacific Coast (from Northern California to Washington State)

Yellowstone Park...We have a beautiful country!

  10. That's really a hard question...been traveling the US for the last 50 years...every time we get back home we decide that that was the best vacations ever...then comes the next and that was the best ever...The US is huge.....so many thing so little time.

It really depends what you want...from the rain forest of the Olympic Peninsula to the Everglades. We may have our problems but if you want to see it, touch it or visit it....We have it...

  11. ..."the" most popular destination is Orlando, FL   (Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World and so many others).

  12. Almost anywhere between New York and California.

  13. Yellowstone Park, The Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Disneyland, and Washington, D.C. are all very popular places for Americans to vacation.
