  1. Am I missing something here? When did Andy Murray say he didn't want the support of the English? What the h**l do you think he was doing on Monday if not ACTIVELY SEEKING support?  I don't think he was waving at the bloody crowd! You're getting you're wires crossed mate. Murray made a comment during the 2006 World Cup which was taken WAY out of context by certain newspaper reporters. If you had SEEN the interview, you'd have realised this. I don't give a flying f**k WHO he supports - as long as he can win Wimbledon at some point for BRITAIN - and he WILL!!

  2. This childish banter from a small minority of 'little nationalists' is so sad!  The reason why I am British is because my mother was a Scot, her father was a Scot, her mother was half English and half Welsh, my father was half English and half Welsh, I was born in England and I have cousins whose have a parent from Ireland.  As Britains, we are probably more interbred now than ever and the hundreds of thousands of Scots married to English, Welsh and Irish partners and living in England will find some of these comments embarrassing.

Tennis is not a 'national' sport like football and rugby it is a challenge between individuals.  Andrew Murray will  grow up - given time, but until then he would do well to just keep his mouth shut and play his best tennis.  I wish him luck and look forward to his maturity and progress towards being World No1.

  3. There are bigots all over the World not just in Scotland.

I don't watch or care about tennis but if this Murray character has been quoted correctly then he should not play in any tournaments on English soil if he does not want English support.

Maybe he should just stay in Scotland and see how much international attention he gets!... if he is brave enough.

    No chance of that happening!

  4. Yep - very sad - a lot of Scots have a large chip on both shoulders when it comes to the English.

  5. listen, what he said about not supporting england was just "pub" banter. there was nothing sinister in his comment. its just one of those things that shouldnt of been said in front of a s****. humour dead media who went on to completely twist his words. it was a JOKE!!!! i bet he loves playing tennis for the sake of great britain, i doubt very much he is a closet n**i (unlike some folk who just hate him for the sake of it) the only sad thing this whole affair ever did was bring out the racist and despicable elements of our society from under their wee dark rocks to sprout unintelligable venom from their forked tongues. some folk on yahoo answers should honestly have a good soul searching session with themselves. but some folk do have a valid point admist their lunatic rantings, he is good player but he will have to improve a great deal if he wants to win the big tournaments, the likes of federer and nadal are too strong at the moment for pretty much anyone. however the ability is there, its all about his desire to be the best now.

  6. I am American but thats just wrong! He plays for England! Thats like Spain saying they don't want the support of the Spanish for the Euro Cup. I honestly thought he might have given Nadal a slightly tough time but he sucks!

  7. If he did say that then i feel sorry, because i would support any Brit, no matter.

  8. wow......mxtxmxt, if you do not know the difference between the americans and the english, maybe you should spend more time doing research instead of answering questions....... i hope you are not american because if you are, then i am ashamed to call you my countryman

  9. l would always support the scots, but murray is obnoxious in his anti english views.l was leased he lost today

  10. he's a disgrace.. and an embarrassment to tennis

  11. He's just been shown how useless he really is at world level tennis...Go back to wherever you came from Mr Murray, you're mediocrity will soon be forgotten along with you.

I've got bigger muscles than you, you posing arrogant egotist!

Come on you lot...only one thumb down!!

  12. Funny, he sure seemed to be asking the English crowd for support on Monday, didn't he?! If not for them, I do not believe he would have pulled that win off.

  13. thats ok then. hes never had my support. hes a very dislikeable person so i  am not at all sad that hes out. in fact, im delighted.

if he wants to be scottish? ok fine. lets have a nice person to support. tim henman wasnt the winner we wanted but hes a nice man. murray can **** right off. i dislike him intensely and ive never felt that way about any other tennis player.

and i like most  scottish people . they are lovely

  14. No you shouldn't. Murray is a jerk and only cares about himself. I personally don't like him one bit.

  15. Do you mean U.S. when you say, "the support of the English"? If you do, the United states brought it onto themselves. Not everyone in America of course, but most Americans aren't the best of people. And it seems like americans want to own the whole planet. And also, America has one of the highest crime rates, and it's not the best place to live, IMO. This is my opinion. But believe what you want to believe.

  16. Murray is useless at tennis so who cares.

  17. well the English wouldn't want support from the welsh. just as he..(scot) doesn't want support from English..its the way our society is unfortunately

  18. Im disgusted at a fellow Scot like him with his attitude.  Ths majority of us Scots are not like that, and he gives us all a bad name.
