  1. Well, Brewers just spanked them today and even with those two back overall the Brewers will still have the better starting rotation, so I think the Brewers will it.

  2. i really think the cards are going to have trouble in the second half...the cubs and brewers have both added big names to their starting rotations and the cards are relying on players coming back from injury, one from major surgery, in order to make a run...i understand that their offense is very good, but if carpenter and wainwright aren't 100% that's bad news, and their bullpen is already a mess...they will live and die with their bats and there isn't a team in baseball history that has had to do that and won when the chips were down

  3. I think the question here is, can Carpenter and Wainright come back and be effective?

  4. Ya they make big comebacks. Todays gamewas just won game and they still have 3 more games with the Brewers and they can beat them. But anything can happen and I'm hoping for the best.

  5. seeing as how carpenter hasn't pitches in over a year and a half now, i can't see him being as good as his cy young days. getting wainwright will be huge, but carpenter might actually be a liability to the rotation.

  6. I think if Carp and Wainwright can come back strong and stay healthy they will. I keep on forgetting they dont have those two because the Cards are doing so well.

  7. The pirates will win the central...I WISH no the cubs will win it.

  8. I doubt it. Even if Carpenter comes back healthy I think Cards fans are expecting him to be what he was a few years ago. Which I don't think is going to happen. He has peaked and is still good but not like he was. Also Lohse, Looper, Wellemeyer, and Wainwright are having career type years. And chances are that 2 or 3 of them will have some bad starts and get back to their lifetime averages. Also The Cards big four (Pujols, Glaus, Ludwick, Ankiel) are on fire and will cool off soon too. Also while they are good on the road they don't dominate at home like some other teams do.

  9. as an Astro fan this hard for me to say, but yes. Because the Cubs are just a good home team. and if you wanna get into the playoffs your have to win road games.

And the Cards have shown that.
