Redsox_g - you should be sweating because your team is about to be passed. Probably not this weekend but soon.

So keep saying you have a better rotation. It won't matter if you get beat out.

  1. Well thats 7 in a row isnt it. Cano has a seven game hit streak. the rays seem to be falling off. and apparently big papi aint so great.

I SMELL AL EAST CHAMPIONS IN THE BRONX

  2. If I were a Red Sox fan, I would admit to myself that the Yankees have a pitcher who has much better stuff than Beckett. He totally overpowered Boston tonight, the first of many, many times he will do so.

I have to laugh when I see the Red Sox and their fans getting upset for Joba knocking Youkilis down. Pedro did that for years to the Yankees and got away with it, and then he would stare the hitter down. Yankee hitters have been getting drilled by Red Sox pitchers for years and have not retaliated. Now the Yankees have a guy who will pitch inside and the Red Sox and their fans are the victims! It's hilarious. If Youkilis doesn't like it, maybe he shouldn't lean over the plate, then Joba wouldn't try to move him off of it. He is paying Boston back for every time Pedro or Arroyo hit A-Rod or Jeter, which is many times. It's about time a Yankee pitcher had the courage to pitch inside or knock someone down.

Joba is in Boston's head, and he will use it to his advantage every time he pitches against them.

As for the gentleman above me, we Yankee fans have no need to worry. We have gone from 9 games out less than three weeks ago, to get right on Boston's back. The Yankees have a great young manager who knows how to get the most out of his players. Yes, Boston's ERA is lower, but it has gone up over the past few weeks, and the Yankees pitching is on a roll. Perhaps you didn't notice the Red Sox  scored ZERO runs tonight, in their home stadium where they can't afford to lose because they stink on the road?

  3. Mlmason, Joba almost hit youk 2 other times last year.

As for your question, Why should red sox fans be sweating? The red sox have a better rotation than the yankees and better pitching. Besides it was only one game, I think the yankee fans should start worrying.

BTW you do know that the only good pitchers the yankees have is chamberlain and rivera, right yea, uh I don't think that's gonna get you a world series with only 1 good starter and a closer.

No thanks I have no reason to sweat... BTW the red sox will beat them tomorrow just you wait. I'm not sweating and have no need to sweat this weekend or anytime soon, maybe you should be and stop being so d**n cocky.

And as for the idiot below me, I am A CHICK. AND I THINK YOU SOULD BE WORRYING.

  4. RedSox fans now know that the AL East is going to be  a battle to the end with Tampa and New York. The RedSox are not 100% with Manny missing. The RedSox are not really that great offensviely without Manny.

  5. He barely out-aced Beckett... You guys only scored because we had a shift on.  Close game. Joba is dominate, but too bad he is too scared to pitch to Youk.

  6. I think they're used to that, but Joba didn't "outpitch" or "outace" anyone.

Wait until this guy gets around the league three times, and we'll see where he is, and how good he'll be. My guess is he'll be in Scranton.

  7. Both pitched a great game but the Red Sox lost & Yankees won so Sox fans should just move on wait for their next loss, I mean game

  8. they should be because the yankees are red hot and cano is heating up this is just the beginning of they nakees 2nd half run excpet more when nady and marte start playing

  9. Yankee fan here. Joba didn't out-ace Beckett. It's just that both pitchers had their "A" games going. The Yankees were fortunate to eke out this win. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about it. But let's ease up on this talk that Joba was that much better than Beckett.

I'm happy for the win. Hope the Yankees can get a couple more.

And for all the Sox fans bitching about Joba coming in on Youkilis, consider that Pedro used to bust Yankee batters in regularly during his Sox career. Now, I don't agree with pitching that could endanger someone, but let's not pretend that Boston pitchers haven't tried to get at the Yankees before at the plate.

  10. Joba didnt out-ace anyone. Hes not even the ace on the yankees. The sox couldnt hit worth a ****. Dont expect to see it again this series

  11. That is their natural state.

I hope those on here who have said that Ellsbury is a top prospect for rookie of the year and Joba isn't in the discussion were watching tonight. That's what he's been doing as a starter, his record reflects a lack of run support, not a lack of pitching.

  12. When don't Red Sox fans sweat? It's funny how karma always comes back to kick them where it hurts. On the outside they act like professional bad-(you know what's) when the Sox build a 4 or 5 game lead on the Yankees, but on the inside it burns them up inside that Boston finds a way to choke the division lead every year.

  13. Whoa, lets remember that the throwing is mutual dude, both Red Sox and Yankees throw at the other, neither team can act innocent, i hate when people do it, I'll totally admit we throw at you guys, you guys should do the same.  Also I love How "redsoxfanblahblahblah" blows up on how Joba didn't outpitch anyone.  I'm fair about this stuff, but he did.  Also it doesn't matter about this whole ace thing,  even if Girardi thought it that way, he wouldn't say it (and didn't in an interview) because he doesn't want any pressure on him.  Hey, Red Sox may outpitch us tomorrow, they may not, but lets not lie about it.  Sox throw at Yanks, Yanks throw at Sox, this is a normal thing already.  I hate how sox fans (and Yankee fans sometimes) deny their sides.  C'mon, its a rivalry, get used to it.

  14. Both Joba and Beckett pitched a great game. I doubt Red Soxs are sweating considering the fact they have a better OVERALL rotation.  This game should really boost Joba's confident.

  15. Well both were strong and some how that 1run lead stood out and Joba will be the future of the Yankees , so its not the last of it

  16. both teams suck, Rays are better than both.

  17. I'm an Angels fan, and I think Joba is completely overrated and Beckett is a way better pitcher.  All Joba does is bring the heat.
