As a CA resident, why try to put out the wildfires; better to let them burn out naturally?

Ok, as a matter of full disclosure, I live near the Pacific coast and my particular urban area is not effected to a great extent by the fires. Nevertheless, California is overbuilt and perhaps people should decide to move to another part of the country instead of insisting on living in areas that are not suitable for human habitation. This also goes for the people who live near major rivers that flood such as the Mississippi River. Why not abandon these cities and relocate them to higher ground? Why should the taxpayers have to pay for bad decisions? In the case of California, the state has the highest taxes in the country and most people get very little for their tax money. They would be better off living in a state with lower taxes and better government services.

but.. we also need to save the homes of people that built in fire country (for now)

I say "No more homes should be built in the burn areas"

and those that have should pay for their share of fighting the fires.

Well the fıre can rech citıes in CA and they will burn. Also we need are lettıng forests burn wıll cause less oxygen.

if one of those fires was threatening your home and some fool said let the fires burn, you would have a fit and scream till you turned blue.  just be glad its not your home burning and try a little compassion.  it wont hurt a bit.  you could always move, you know.

Well, here are a couple of reasons, from another Californian who does not live in a threatened area:

(1)  I care about people.

(2)  The air pollution, destruction of habitats, eventual flooding, and other problems do affect me.

when are you moving out of California then?

And the tax dollars are better spent in california then they are in almost every other state.

as for gov't services, california ranks right at the top of services provided for the residents by the state.
