  1. I'd agree with that if she were governor of California, but we're talking about Alaska... a state that has not income tax and gives money (from oil lease royalities) back to its citizens.  A chimp with a small amount of intergrity could govern Alaska better than the bozos that were running it with two hands in the till before Palin.  Alaskan's were pissed off at corruption and retaliated by putting a prom queen with integrity in charge.  Don't get me wrong, she's got some integrity, but she's not fit to lead the USA yet. Maybe in 10 years.

  2. Agreed...she has more experience than them in that respect.  However, McCain should have picked Romney...but i think everybody knows why he didn't.

  3. Agreed.  She's the one with the experience of running a government.  The others only have experience making laws for the government.  People can say what they want about her age and credentials, but when you lay it all out on the table, she's a proven leader.

  4. Oh yes, you're right. She has been governor for almost 2 years and don't forget her six years as mayor of that booming metropolis, Wasilla, Alaska, population 5,500.( Are you a political strategist for the Republican Party, I hope?)

  5. I don't understand this new line of support. First it was that Obama lacked "experience", but then McCain went out and picked someone without any to speak of. Then it was clarified that it is now "executive experience" that Obama lacks.

She was part-time mayor of a town of 6,000 or so people, then voted in as Governor of a small state by a total of 115,000 or so votes. Alaska isn't even on a par with a major U.S. city in terms of complexity.

How can you even compare a journalism major from the University of Idaho with a someone who graduated from Columbia and then went on to Harvard? One has shown extensive knowledge (and curiosity) about the world, while the other has not.

This is a pick out of desperation by McCain who passed over not only more qualified candidates, but more qualified women to be his Vice President.

  6. if you think so... goodie for you...

in California or NY... you may have a point...

    Alaska... I'm not buying it...

this is what they said about Bush... and Jimmy Carter...

and was the knock on JFK...

  7. Yeah right.  She's been governor of ALASKA for less than two years.  Hint, Alaska is NOT Texas...

  8. I would certainly say so. Traditionally, Candidates with experience as Governor are more likely to be elected President. No one can sensibly argue against this fact, look at how history has laid things out. (They probably will deny this anyway, but..they'll still be wrong.)

This year has been an exception to that, but really, when you think about it..being Governor is a lot more like the job of President or Vice President than being Senator, no matter how large or small your constituency.

The person who mentioned California or New York, these are traditionally Democratically leaning states. I think you've exposed yourself as being biased. This needs to be looked at objectively.

Let's start with the basics. We have three branches that serve the purpose of what is called "separation of powers".

These branches are: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. The Senate is a part of the Legislative Branch. Governorships and Presidency are both Executive.

I really can't see how people would say that three years in the Senate is superior to two years as Governor. Neither term is of any real significant length.

I'm not saying that Obama is or isn't fit for the job, but come on. These arguments that people have been making about this are completely nonsensical, and without merit.  If it were true, I guess no one should've voted for Clinton, either.

  9. Only if you consider having no foreign policy experience, no idea of what the VP does and, being the Governor of a vast frozen wilderness with 3 electoral votes as qualified.

  10. IF you think that then don't vote for McCain, write Palin in for Prez.

  11. Governor of a state of 500,000 people is significantly less than senator of a state of over 7 million.

  12. She has far more quality executive experience and is more qualified than Obama.
