I have been living on my own with a job supporting myself for over a year now. My parents made enough money that I couldn't qualify for aid but they in reality they didn't make enough to put me through school. I am going to go to school on my own without any other income. I make $1,800 a year will I qualify as independent and get the help I need?

  1. weather or not you live on your own or support yourself is not a factor in determining dependency status so it is hard to answer your question without knowing more info.  Here are the questions.

If you answer no to all of them you will have to list your folks income.  Anyone can get fin aid (in the form of loans) regardless of parents income.
