As a current or future parent what do you want your young (3-8 y/o) child to learn about life? Besides their 'abc's and '1,2,3's'.

For example, I would like my children to fully understand the concept of sharing.

  1. My 4 year old just asked me if Jesus died because he wasnt wearing his seat belt.  I wasnt sure where to begin on that one.

  2. share, lose gracefully, be happy for others accomplishments, control anger, respect parents and authority figures, serve others, contribute to team efforts, always do their best, never threaten others or call them names, express gratitude for service from others, be kind to animals and other children, the right thing isn't always the easiest thing, work first-play second, spend less than they earn, pray, recognize the hand of God in their life, and daily scripture study.

Yep, long list, keeps me busy all day long!

  3. As a Christian mother I am working to help my daughter know that Christ should be center of her life.  This is also teaching her to respect others and to love all.

  4. To handle finances, and pay their bills without fussing about it! So many people are talking about they can't pay this, or can't pay that...and are too ignorant to cut out extra spending. So financial responsibility is a big one for me. Also to learn about the world, different places, cultures, and people in it. Doing very well in the areas we focus on with our daughter, will do the same with our others as they grow. I'd like responsible intelligent kids, not whiney, irresponsible, ignorant ones.

  5. The most important thing for my child to learn is to know what is good and wrong, express freely, have his own ideas.
