  1. It is hard to answer since you do not say how old are the children, if they are little it is easy for parents to get involve but as they grow (children) usually they form groups and leave children on their own

  2. involved in the sense of activities they usually don't kid's birthday parties are for the kids not the adults. they usually just chat with other adults or drop the kids off and  come back later. and if you mean involved like with bringing food if they aren't close close friends or family it's rude to ask someone to bring something that you invited them to.

  3. For my daughters 13th Birthday party, The parents were invited as well as the children. The kids were in the kitchen or in the yard just hanging out, and the parents sat upstairs, chatted, and had coffee.

  4. Parents usually just chat.  I wouldn't want to have to be involved in all honesty if I was staying.

  5. depends on the age you can do child/parent sack races

make masks and give rewards for the best ones

    musical chairs

  6. I don't think parents need to get too involved in the party. Just supervise the children to make sure they keep out of trouble, organise food, drinks and games and let them have their party. Maybe have a family dinner that night but just let the kids have their fun.

  7. Ummm that they leave and come back to pick up their child in a couple of hours? Unless you know them really well they could stay and chit chat and help supervise. Other than that they shouldn't be expected to do anything.
