As a Physician's Assistant, What will be my main Duties?

I seriously thinking about becoming a physicians assistant, speciallizing in Pediatrics(children), BUT, i don't want to be taking temperatures and taking blood pressure all day, i want it to be fun and have a good time. Will i be Do you know what i will be doing? Any ideas? THanks

  1. Physicians assistants can do many, many things.  It depends on what kind of doctor or group that you work for.  As a physicians assistant, you work under a doctor.  You can assist in surgery, work in clinics, emergency rooms, doctors offices (where you might be do anything from taking history & physicals, working in children's hospitals and working in intensive care units, doing rounds on patients throughout the hospital.   The list goes on and on. It can be a very rewarding field.


  2. You would be answering phones and filing away files.

    Temp and blood pressure is what a NURSE does.
