As a Republican: What will McCain and Palin do about the Economy, Jobs, and Health Care?

Watching the RNC wrap up last night.

I was not satisfied with McCain and Palin's speech. They did not mention anything about improving economy, job security and creating, and health care.

I hope to hear about these things in the next few months.

What are your thoughts?

  1. Actually, he DID discuss these things last night.  Perhaps you zoned out, so I will inform you:

    - He will lower taxes to encourage economic growth

    - He will support education for new job opportunities that are starting in America from new technology that is starting up.  He specifically mentioned new job opportunities in the energy industry.

    - He discussed his plans for health care - to provide affordable health care for all Americans, as opposed to government-run health care as Obama supports, which would only increase taxes and bureaucracy and decrease quality of health care.

    Hope that helped.

  2. I agree.  I already know they don't like their opponent's plans.  But what are THEIR plans?  That's all I really wanted to hear.  But unless I missed something, those details were lacking in both speeches.

  3. For as much as I could stand. I heard him say give jobs that can't be taken away. What exactly are those jobs? I heard him say he would cut unproductive programs. Though not specific on this either. I wondered if that meant things like the fake war on drugs. Or maybe Homeland Security.

  4. Sure they did...

they are going to keep TAXES LOW...

they are going to encourage investment in INDUSTRIES WITH JOBS THAT LAST AND STAY IN AMERICA.....

they know they "can't wish away the global economy" like Obama wants to do....

they will expand the need for alternate fuel and THE MARKET will create jobs to test, develop, produce, and distribute alt-fuels....

He laid out MANY details...you simply weren't listening.

  5. Reduce taxes and increase deficit spending.

Let the economy do the best it can.'

Discontinue company health insurance benefits by taxing them.

  6. my thoughts....we have seen 8 years of Republican leadership and 6 of those 8 years total republican control in house and senate as well.

I've seen enough. Let Clinton get a hummer in the oval office..it's not my concern...but $4 a gallon gas is my concern along with an unjust war....thanks George....I've seen enough thank you

  7. I don't know, they were long on not having columns, long on having a moose skinner in Blair House. Long on promising change from the present Republican adminstration, by being another Republican administration.  I can't even pretend to try and understand them anymore, or anyone that doesn't suffer from amnesia who votes them in again.

During the debates should be when we hears substansive discussion, About the economy, foreign affairs, Russian power grabs, Iraq, but so help me if she tells me shes a hockey mom one more time, I'm leaving.

If anyone wants to see their plans laid out, its not difficult each candidate has an official  website with their proposals laid out.

  8. You must not have listened.

The economy will be strengthened by tax cuts. Giving money back to the people allows them to spend more and increase the economic boom. Bush did this and the economy showed a 3.3% gain last quater. Also by not raising taxes on corporations, jobs will stay in America because companies can afford to pay Americans; likewise, prices on commodities and goods will not go up because the company will not have to pay higher taxes and therefore they can leave prices at a reasonable price.

Healthcare will certainly not be fixed by Social Health care, as you know. I think that having the government control/say when I can see a doctor and for what reasons and how/when it will be covered is a horrible idea. Healthcare, in my opinion, doesn't need too much help. I have been covered my entire life and all I had to do was work a full-time job, which is what everyone who isn't already rich should be doing. If I can do it and get health care, at 24 years old, what's stopping everyone else from doing the same? As he mentioned, good, affordable health care, just like any commodity, is created through competition. Creating competition will drive prices down. You can find out most of this stuff at JohnMccain.com.

  9. I have heard it from both candidates - what they want to do, but not how they are going to get it accomplished.

  10. What can be done with a democratic "do nothing" congress. A lot more than the fluff with no substance than Obama is offering.

BTW: Who cares if you are satisfied with their speeches? You would never be "satisfied", just because they it came from a republican. Thumbs down, time to hear from the BDS crowd.

  11. thats the big mystery so far the talk has been about having babies and being shot down I dont know where they stand on issues does anyone

  12. if history is any help, nothing but bad things

  13. suck, blow and puke on... respectively

  14. The same thing bush did. The economy will suffer, jobs will start to disappear and nearly 40% of the population will have no health care, how is that suppose to be construed as change?

  15. The ONLY thing that the government can do to improve an economy is keep taxes low. Other than that, the economy is OUR responsibility. It's business, not government that creates jobs. It's business, not government that pays the wages. So what can he do about the economy and jobs? Keep taxes low. Other than that, nothing. And the fact that Obama thinks he can and is making all these promises shows either how ignorant he is or he's lying. FACT.

As to health care, what do you want? I currently pay $1,500 a month..that's a month..for medical insurance. That's a lot, right? Well, having lived all over the world most of my life, I know that if government provides 'free' health care, I'll be paying even more. That too is a fact.

Health care is our responsibility, not the government's. They can eliminate some regulation, allow for small businesses to band together, McCain has proposed that. But the democratic plan for free health care or 'affordable insurance' is smoke and mirrors...the cost of doing what they propose would increase taxes on ALL Americans to levels not seen since the Kennedy administration. FACT.

That's why McCain and Palin haven't mentioned it. They're above the pandering, exageration and lying that seems to be democratic SOP.

  16. See: George Bush

  17. We must not of been watching the same speech then, lol. He definitely touched base on all 3 of those issues. Dont worry though. You will hear both candidates go into greater detail of their views and how they will accomplish them when the debates start.

  18. They talked about all three...where you listening?
