I have been keeping a little boy since he was 3 months old he is now 8 months and all he wants me to do is hold him. his own mother admits that when he is home they rarely puts him down. he won't play with his toys even when i'm on the floor with him, he just comes and gets in my lap. He screams when I put him down to clean his highchair i have even put him in a walker so he can follow me as i go to the kitchen or bathroom but still he screams. please help!!

  1. My nephew was the same way last year. I always ended up crying with him by the end of the day!   : (   He grew out of it though. Wait it out.

and maybe ask for a raise haha

  2. i would talk to the parents and tell them they need to learn the let him down because some babies are crawling or even walking by now.  So he shouldn't be held all the time.  it slows down the learning to crawl and walk skills (large motor) So the parents need to learn to put him down so he can crawl or walk.

  3. As a mother myself, I would say you have two options:

1.) Let him cry it out

    2.) Carry him everywhere

LOL - sorry. That is really all you can do. If mom at home is always holding him, thats what he is used to.  You can "train" him that YOU wont hold him all the time, but again that will take him crying it out and a lot of patience. :)

  4. He is just going to have to scream a few times then he'll get over it.   It's going to be LOUD...

  5. Since the baby is only 8 months old, he is still young enough to quickly learn that he can't be held all of the time.  You must let him cry it out.  He will eventually learn that this will not get you to hold him.  You can try to get him to pay attention to other things, like TV or toys.  Play games with him that don't require holding him.  Put him in a playpen when you need to go to the bathroom.  Also, try rewarding him with a smile or his favorite toy when he does stop crying.  I hope this works.

  6. My baby was like that (and still is but not quite to that extent) and i'll be sending him to a babysitter soon. Try putting the baby in a playpen. As long as he can't get out, you'll be able to walk away and do what you need to do.Yes, he will scream but let him. He'll get used to it after awhile and learn to like it. Put some toys in there and once he calms down a bit, he'll take notice to the toys and amuse himself. You could also leave him in his high chair after meals and let him play for a little bit. That will give you a chance to clean up the dishes and anything that needs to be done in the kitchen. Take him for a walk in the stroller. That way you aren't holding him but chances are he'll like it. Almost every baby loves the stroller and he'll probably fall asleep.

Good luck and I hope this helped!
