As a cosigner(Stupid) if payemts are not made can we take the car?

The payments were a month late two months in a row hitting my credit.

I want to remove the car and sell it to get it out of my name is this possible?

  1. Co-signing a loan is a guarantee to to pay, but is not a right of ownership.  You can't just take the car, you have to go through the courts to do it. You already know why this is a bad idea, so I'll spare you the usual lecture.


  2. As a co-signer you are just as resposible for the car as the other party is. So can you take possesion of the car, yes, they will have to sign off on it when you sell it.
