  1. It is proof but I am not sure where to find it.

What I have learned, is that it damages your growth plates, that are located next to you joints.  In result, you often stunt or even permanently stop your growth.  So, you should take it easy, but there should be no reason not to bench.  Just not a lot.

  2. Whats benching and curling?

  3. Your body is just now starting to pump testosterone into your muscles and the way you shape them now will basically determine their shape later. You should work out regularly and shape them in a good form now. So in a way, yes it does affect the way you grow.

  4. we have weight  classes in pe, starting in 7th grade. my health and pe teachers say its fine as long as u can do 10 reps with the weight u want to work with. otherwise you can damage the growth plate.

and doing more reps with lower weight is what builds muscle anyway, not 1 or 2 reps with something 2 heavy...

  5. No. i stared benching wen i was 15 n everyine gave me bull saying it would stunt my growth n im now 6'2 going on 6'3.

  6. Only if you do not eat enough food with a good amount of protien and whatnot to keep up with the calories you are burning, and to build muscle... benching and curling alone isnt going to do anything for you except keep you slim unless you attribute your workout with a balanced diet. so yes it can affect your growth if you are working out and not nourishing yourself. also you can put alot of strain on your growth plates in your arms and legs if you do this too often or over exert yourself.

  7. ugh no it doesnt affect ur growth...it deffinatly gives u a heck of a better body....  benching and curling does is improve ur cartio and all that gooood stuff..haha

  8. According to the National Strength and Conditioning Association, resistance training has not been shown to affect growth but can help to build strength and muscles similar to adult resistance training.  You need to be careful not to overexert yourself as this can damage the ephysical (growth) plates in the bone, however this type of injury is relatively rare.
