  1. I'm 14 years old, and I can shoot under par sometimes, but most the time I shoot  even or 2 or 3 over, in FCWT 13-15 divison I won a lot in that event, but if I play AJGA, I need shoot a lot lower.

It all depend on what kind of tournament you play, if you play a small one, 83 is ok, but if you play AJGA that's way to high.

  2. I'm 14, so I can relate to your age level.

    You should shoot for +20.

Thats a couple pars, alot of bogeys, and that one hole where you get it in the water twice and you get a quad bogey.  We all have those holes in a round of 18.

I try to shoot for a bogey on every hole.

Double bogeys for me make me mad.

    Birdies make me faint.

Triple bogeys make me throw my 5 iron into the hazard.

  3. Here is a little bit information i came across awhile  back.-----  As for scoring average for boys, a mid level Division I school is looking for a scoring average of 75 or better.  The Top 20 schools are looking around 72.  As for lower tier Division I schools as well as Division II, coaches are looking for a tournament scoring average between 75-80.  Division III schools scores are between 75 – 85, depending on the program.

  4. Well, there's not really a set score that you should get.

I'm 15 and I typically shoot around 90, but I can shoot as good as 85. Don't be worried about playing in competitions, it'll only help your score because you'll become less nervous. In the first tournament I played in (January) I shot a 106 and came in last. But I shot better a few weeks ago and I shot a 90. I've been playing in Florida, where there are many junior golfers, so believe me, you are good enough.

    Hope I helped!

  5. If your shooting 83, your easily good enough to go in the comp. im a junior and when i started i was shooting 100+ now im shooting between 70-76. Competitions really help you with your golf skills. Go for it!
