  1. Politics.

At 14 years old, your best bet would be to run for a seat on your school's student council. If you want a career in politics, then stay in school, and go to college. A major in Political Science will be beneficial.

I may disagree with your statement of being a democratic party supporter, but I applaud you for taking an interest in government. I pray that you will do well, and will be seeking office for the right reasons. (having power for power's sake is not the right reason). There are not many teens out there who have a keen interest in government.

Finally, as you walk though your life as a politician, I also pray you bear in mind that this country is based on a government by the people, for the people, and of the people. To me, this means that we have rights and liberties as individuals. The Constitution and the Bill of Rights spells out what the government cannot do. You will note that there is no mention of what the people cannot do in the founding documents of our great nation. If you hold true to the original documents, you will do well

  2. Volunteer for a Democratic candidate on the local level. Campaigns always need volunteers to knock on doors and make phone calls. Also it will help you make contacts within the party while you're working at a campaign headquarters. This would be valuable experience if you ever decide to run for office one day.

Try democrats.com. A good place to start.

  3. What a fine youngster you are to be interested! Those of us who care about this old country applaud you because you are our future.

It is easy to get involved and this is a perfect time to do it. Look up your local Democratic Party. There are some in almost every town. Call and tell them you want to help. From then on you are on your way. My kids are 16 & 17 and we are all involved in our local party. We meet for the first time this Wed. for the upcoming election. You'll learn an awful lot and have a great time. Our group has a young people's group that includes teens through college kids. The college students that are taking classes is in politics and have practice in the field also meet with the kids. You can ask questions, meet new friends, have some pretty good pizza and be a great help to the party all at one time. Bet you'll find a similar organization. Good luck.

  4. Go to your local County government web site and look up the Board of Elections.  It will list the different political parties and your elected officials.  If you are a Democrat there will be a local Party web site and you can contact them and tell them what you want to do and they will get you started.

It will give you your voting district where you live and your elected officials from the local to national level.  At that point you can either call them or email them to let them know your interests.

    You can go here

    http://www.house.gov/

And find kids in the house in the left tab and it will give you a lot of information to.

Thanks for being a good citizen.  Getting involved in public service is a high calling whether as a lawmaker or a volunteer.
