  1. As a parent of an 8 year old at the time, I wanted to home school him at that point.  As the violence in schools seems to intensify, I feel that the best we can do is try to tell him what to do if this type of incident occurs at his school.  We all lost something that day.

  2. I live not to far from where this happened and my daughter at the time was in her sophomore year in high school, it was shocking and so very sad here in Colorado that day and days after, the only thing that I could do was tell her to keep her wits about her, anything can happen at any time, choose your friends wisely, if something seems suspicious you have to tell someone even if it's nothing, it always better to be safe than sorry, besides she is so sensitive she would feel horrible if she knew something was wrong but didn't say anything, she couldn't live with that I know, I always tell her to use her gut instinct, your gut will tell you when someone or something isn't right, just go with it and never be afraid to tell a teacher or principal, it could save lives.
