h**l No!!!! you are obligated to know about them, meaning all the names, what they do, how they affect you, etc. But that doesn't mean you are suppose to do them and become a drug addict yourself. That is just pure stupid asking a question like that. Then again, that is just common sense to me, guess its not so common to you.

Well, that's a bizarre question.  I wouldn't say you should take drugs, especially for that reason.  But if you have experimented in the past I would be honest about it, and tell them what the downsides are.

I know most parents don't want to admit that *gasp* they ever did anything wrong in their life, but the D.A.R.E. approach to drugs just doesn't work.  A better approach is to tell them "Yes, drugs can make you feel good, but they can also be addictive, take up all of your money, and make you act stupid".

No, but you are obligated to know about the new street drugs, what they look like what their effects are.  You are also obligated to give atleast basic education to your children.  Tell them not to take anything they didnt get from you.  It may look like a safe tylonal, but it may not be.  Kids think its funny to pass off narcotics as something like tylonal.  And any good drug dealer knows how to open a capsul, or cut a tablet up with something else and reform it.  If its in an unmarked container, its probably unmarked for a reason.  Most people dont really carry tylonal in rx bottles.  In fact, you can actually be arrested in some places for having pills in unmarked or incorrect bottles.

Its kind of like s*x.  You dont want them to do it, but you have to recognize that they are exposed to it every day with plenty of chances to do it.  All you can do is try to instill that they shouldnt do it, but make sure they are educated incase it does come up.

h**l no i won't try drugs. to better are kids is just to give them the education about the drugs what it can do how it can harm you. As a parent you need to know most of those slang names is too you just can't let your kids come home and say hey dad!!! I'm Crystal is great. you will need to know the language so you know what your son is getting in to.
