  1. Frankly, you are acting a bit paranoid!! In the overwhelming majority of cases, eBay is a very safe marketplace, especially for sellers. Remember - you're not going to ship anything until you've actually been paid, and you can choose the form of payments you will accept.

It is quite possible to make a decent income off eBay, but you have to know what you're doing. There are no quick and easy shortcuts, or everyone would be making a fortune on eBay. But it is easy to get started.

Ebay offers a rather complete Seller’s Tutorial that explains how to get started, what it costs, and the mechanics of using the site. You can find it here:

    http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/inde...

It's relatively easy to get started, and if you get all the pieces to fit properly, it can be very lucrative.

  2. It is really very rare that people get scammed on ebay these days.  I have been selling (and buying) for years now.

Get the money (make sure the check clears) before you send the item.  PayPal is a GREAT way to take payment online.

  3. The best way to not get scammed and ripped off is to not sell on ebay.  Easy as that.  There is a small chance that you could make some money, but selling on ebay is a horrible thing and its a great way to through money down the drain.

  4. Here is the straight answer you were looking for. My wife is a Powerseller on Ebay and sales clothes as well.

1.) Open a PayPal account and accept PayPal only.

2.) Set your buyer preferences to block buyers with a feedback of less than 10

3.) Never send anything until payment has cleared

4.) Always without fail include delivery confirmation on every package you send. This will prevent people from saying they never received their package

5.) Confirm the shipping address is the same on PayPal as it is on their Ebay account.

The only time we have had any type of trouble has been with the newbies to Ebay that play dumb and use that as their excuse for not paying on time. It's not that hard you will learn as you go.

  5. On Ebay there are seller fees and when you are paid via Paypal, fees are taken from there as well.  So when you list an item, at least make sure the amount you are asking for shipping charges will actually cover it.  You will need to get a postal scale and weigh the item and factor in packaging weight as well. Then go on USPS.com to find out how much it will actually be to mail the package.

On Ebay there is a lot of free help and it is very easy to sell.  The biggest scam is paying for anyone or anything to give you advice or information.  It's all free on Ebay.

  6. eBay is actually pretty safe, in terms of money, make sure you open a Paypal account, its the easiest way for you to receive the money safely. As long as you do the money part through paypal, you should be fine, all the scams I know about involve personal checks and whatnot.

  7. For one, don't listen to "fook me" lol.  Anyway, there are a lot of good internet article regarding this type of topic.  Try googling it.  Also, ebay's site itself will have a lot of good information.  But as a seller, you are at an advantage because you can and should NEVER send the product to the buying until AFTER they have paid.  If they pay by check, send the product after the check clears.  Or you can set up a Paypal account and not send the product until after you see that they have made the electronic payment.  Good luck.  I absolutely abhor dishonest crooks.
