Question:

As a single, independent, low-income student, where can I find social aid?

Should I just make an appointment with a local social worker?

I hear that there are "certain questions" I need to ask when I see them, what kind of questions would these be?

And also, what kind of help do YOU think I should be able to receive? Anything helps, I'm really hard up,

Thanks for any knowledge.

  1. A student should just be able to hang out in the school cafeteria.    If you no got the money for a soda or drink, that makes it bad.   If you are on food stamps, you can buy 6-packs of bottled water and carry a bottle or two in your book pack and pull that out when you are sitting in the lounge or cafeteria.  That would make it look like you have money to spend.

  2. Most people who are able to work and choose not to are not eligible for public assistance.  You could take out student loans if you feel like you need some help managing yourself whyle you were in school.  As far as welfare, why don't you just get a job?  My money shouldn't pay for you to be lazy.

  3. Depends largely on where you live. You should qualify for food assistance and medicaid if you are full-time student in the US. Yes, make an appointment if there is no information available on campus.

  4. the Qs r:  how to help with tuition, food  etc.
