As a single mom planning to move, is chicago better than california? i want to work as a CNA so to save money?

moving to california, would i get more pay with a cna or to chicago, i have relatives i can live with untill am able to save good money for my own appartment. any ideas will be appreciated.

California while more expensive has a greater amount of work possibilities and better weather. The pay would also be at a higher rate on the west coast. Chicago is a fun city but is less forgiving than California and has a generally more harsh environment. Best of luck!

Chicago is probably cheaper than Cali but is still one of the most expensive places to live in the country. Sales tax is now 11% thanks to Todd Stroger. A cup of starbucks is an extra 40 cents so imagine that tax rate for groceries and other large purchases. CNA is a job that is really in demand. Are you a CNA are are you wanting to become one? If you already are there are such shortages that you can pretty much pick where to live and some states even offer free housing or huge signing bonuses. I know you can live in Hawaii for free if your a nurse b/c they are in such demand.
