I am being serious how would the climate be affected if the earth was flat. Would the deep ocean conveyer belt work?

  1. It's been known for a very long time. The Phoenicians, Chinese, and Vikings knew it. The only reason it persisted was due to the Church stubbornly refusing to change the view it had on the world.

  2. Who said it is round ?

Ask the flat earth society !

They inform me that Columbus was a p***k !

If being flat was better for global warming then why haven't they flattened it out more ?

There's all kinds of mountains and stuff that stick up, way far out there.

The part I like is if it were truly round (spherical) then why have not the people in the antarctic fallen off ?

The flatness is a good explanation for oodles of people who have all of a sudden just dissappeared !

ETHER they are right of the round theory is wrong !

  3. If the earth was flat it would work like a giant sauce pan, and would boiled away in the beginning.....

  4. It's a myth that pre- columbus europeans thought that the earth was flat. They had the diameter estimated more correctly than Columbus did. I doubt if he ever would have made it to asia.

  5. Global Warming is as ridiculous as the Flat Earth Theory.

  6. incredible, just incredible. and i thought the obese people making global warming question was dumb.....

  7. We learned the earth was actually a globe about 5 days ago when you were watching TV, half asleep on the coach.

  8. Depends on what society you are talking about.   The Egyptians knew within a mile or two how far around it was.   The Chinese probably earlier.   Europeans were kinda dense and didn't figure it out till much later because of their religious beliefs.   The myth that learned people thought the world was flat in Columbus's day is spread entirely by school teachers.   They knew how far around it was, but didn't know of the continents in between.   If N., S. America weren't  in the way, Columbus would have been lost at sea since that would have added another 9,000 miles to the trip before reaching land.

  9. The ancient sailors always knew that the Earth was round.  It was a secret that they kept for years.  It wasn't until the 1400's that actual scientists as we know them came about.

A flat earth would be different and have it's own problems.

  10. Allegedly the person who 'proved' the world was round was Ferdinand Magellan, who was the first man to sail around the world. That was the first time it was conclusively proven that the world was round.

Is flat Earth better for global warming?better in what way?that it would slow down global warming or that it would hasten it?Of course if the earth was flat i doubt it that it would be called "global warming" because it was "flat".

I doubt it that a correct answer to this question can be found.Only assumptions.
