  1. as a teacher, I have found that when a student disrupts the class like in your example, I usually punish the whole class and give them like 5 minutes of time out during recess or lunch. The key is to not to make yourself the mean person, but put all that attention on the students who act out in class, because they're the ones who want the attention. It works, and guess what, you end up teaching those kids a few lessons. I also taught in middle school, if any student disrupted my class, I just added more homework to their load. Trust me, students hate homework, they'll rat out the troublemakers so fast. And to be honest with you, I have always been one of those popular teachers in the end, and word spreads, not to mess around with me. Lastly, I work in the Los Angeles Unified district, trust me, we have our groups of very rude and out-of-control students, just be tough, most of your students will appreciate it because they don't get any restrictions at home.

  2. It is too difficult to find out the guilty student. If I able to find out the guilty I will stop writing after ending a sentence. Then ask to some student and the guilty student also some related question about the topics which I was writing on the board. If he first  time I will call him in my room in off period and teach some moral things.

  3. WWJD?

  4. I stop what I am doing and take the student out of the class.

  5. I'm a pretty tough teacher and my students respect me.  I cannot imagine this happening to me.

  6. u need to go back to skool urself, its throws and you're or you are

  7. I will do the same thing that my teacher did when I threw a piece of chalk. Use the cane

  8. Make them stay after class and wash the blackboard.

  9. first, i would learn how to spell the word "throw"

and then, i would think what grade this student is in, and analyze his/her maturity level really fast before taking action.

either way, i would reprimend the kid, and if he does it again, he gets detention.

  10. Well, there should be consequences, of course; a trip to detention or to the Principal's office.

My concern, though, is that if you are a teacher, why is your spelling and grammar so abysmal?  I mean, throughs instead of throws and your instead of you're...and you didn't even use a big "A" when you started your sentence, not to mention your use of a comma where no comma was required.

If I had kids I'd be inclined to home-school.

  11. Have a sense of humor.  If you let students know that it gets to you, they will continue to 'push your buttons.'  I usually say something along the lines of "Unless you're planning on sweeping my floor today, lets not do that... thanks."  If the behavior continues, call home and inform the parents.  Make a referal or assign detention as your building plan allows.

I also highly suggest using an overhead projector if discipline is an issue.  It allows you to 'write on the board' while being in view of your students the whole time.

  12. I remind them of the policy regarding littering at school and request they pick it up. If they refuse, I remind them the consequence for aggression toward a teacher and defiance will be a trip to the office. If they still refuse, I document the incident and conversation and they leave my room to the office immediately. If they refuse to go to the office, they are given the opportunity to rethink the situation or be removed by a police officer. This whole thing takes 30 seconds. Pretty neat huh?

However, if this is an ongoing problem, they are referred to the office, social worker, and anger management.
