I am planning on walking across the boarder and flying on a one way ticket with-in Mexcio because it is so much cheaper and I am purchasing and old car and driving it back. Does anyone know if it is legal for me to by a one way ticket within Mexico as an American Citizen on an American Passport?

  1. Dude, you are an American! You can travel nearly anywhere you want with little more than your passport and a pocketful of $100 bills which you can easily convert to peso, won, yen, etc...

  2. Sure. The airline won't care, just go to their web site and buy the ticket.

I would be more concerned about getting from the border crossing to the airport, since the border crossings I know aren't within walking distance of airports, and in particular finding out what you need to do to import a Mexican car into the US. You can expect some pointed questions at the border as a US citizen showing up driving a Mexican car.

  3. Yes, of course you can puchase a plane ticket while you are in Mexico.    You may have more problems with purchasing a car in Mexico and importing it into the U.S.  See articles below for requirements and customs info.
