Question:

As an U.S. Citizen, how do I get to Lebanon without passport evidence of Israel and Jordan?

I'll be traveling to the Middle East and will stay in three countries: Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, in that order. Will travel to/fro Jordan and Israel by bus or taxi.

Will travel fro/to Jordan and Lebanon by air.

To avoid the scrunity of Israel stamp in my passport, how do I get a visa to Jordan without giving away that I've been to Israel? Suggestions how to do this in simple concise way would be helpful.

  1. Remove those stamps from your passport.  The best way is to have extra inserts and use those to get the controversial stamps like Jordan, Israel, and Syria.  Have them stamp your passport in Lebanon but use different inserts in Jordan and Israel.  Though, I still think they might be suspicious.  Good Luck!!!

  2. I've done both, some countries are quite good to provide you with a duplicate passport if you are traveling in the middle east.  I also asked for an insert when going into Israel.  Nearly got lifted because someone came across it going into Syria.  Not good.

  3. Get the visa for Jordan first, then go to Israel, then to Jordan and then to Israel. Or go to Israel only once at the end.

I would not mess around with inserts as you could be in trouble for messing around with your US passport

The alternative is to go to Jordan first, leave your passport there, get a local ID to travel to and fro from Israel then pick up your passport and fly between Jordan and Lebanon.

  4. get an extra iinsert...or simply get a new passport..You can request this by using your original number.... not sure if all that will be worth it...

  5. Israel has a removable stamp.  But you have to ask for it.
