I'm still going to run but I'd like to bike as well to change up my workouts as well as my routine so I don't get too bored of running all the time. Can anyone tell me what bike they own or a favorite bike they had to build up their stamina and endurance?

  1. Go to ANY TREK road bike dealer and ask for the 2008 FREE color catalog----there's TONS to choose from the variety of bikes and they will be your BEST weapon.

  2. A road bike is best for building endurance. You have greater control over your workouts. Mountain bike riding is more like intervals.

  3. Pretty much any bike will do the trick.  It depends on how much and how hard you ride it.

Note to wacky:  I do a high percentage of my Ironman training on an MTB, because I prefer to stay on paths and trails out of the way of motorvehicles and their half-witted operators.    The tri-bike feels like a rocket come race day....

Yes, singletrack is more like interval training, but that has little to do with the bike itself.
