Yes you are obliged to take someone back IF they want to come back, and you must make risk assessments and review the position and if possible make flexitime arrangements for them.  If they are breast feeding then you must also allow an area separate where they can express their own milk if needed.

    Rules and regulations and code of practises can be found on the HSE pregnancy guidelines (leaflets available or in pdf form).

  5. Yes and no.

    If you've temporarily replaced her, then the temp has to go and she comes back.  But if you've found that you can do the work with less people (ie her role is no longer necessary) then she will have no job to return to.

  7. Probably.  You shouldn't have to.  It was not your decision to take time out and have a brat so why should you and your company suffer for some woman's selfishness?  No doubt, the feminazis will rage.  It's unfair, but you probably have to.
