As an individual, what have you done to protect the environment?

I am planning to discard the use of plastic (polythene) bags for ever.

i am planting my own garden. i will be using only ladybugs to take care of the bugs. i will only eat what i grow. i will not have any meat but i do have beans to use as protean in my diet.

i always picked up a plastic bag or a paper when it has been fallen down.

Use public transportation whenever possible, bring my own canvas bags for grocery and other shopping, do not use plastic wrap or purchase things in plastic bottles unless there is no alternative, shop at a bulk market using my own containers to cut down on the packaging I  recycle, volunteer 8 hours a week with a local group promoting personal wind turbines in our area, have contracted to have our own installed when we move onto our property next summer, earthworm compost, recycle,  make my own natural, environmentally safe cleaning and personal care products and candles, grow as many of my own organic vegies as I can to cut down on the goods I buy that must be transported.

I do more than some and less than others but have found that if we try to become more aware of the our actions that negatively impact  the environment there is much we can do that does not affect our lifestyle, it's just a matter of changing the way you think and forming some new habits.

My friends and I formed this environmental organization that aims to educate the people from rural provinces about proper waste segregation and disposal.

I recycle paper and throw my trash on the proper bins.
