  1. idk

  2. Beens and peas have more protein then mushrooms, but mushrooms are higher in protein then other veggies.

  3. Not really.

If you're going to be a vegetarian, you REALLY have to take it seriously. I had a friend who started being a vegetarian but wasn't getting enough iron and as a result, medical problems induced. She eventually had to stop being one because her iron levels were too low.

As a vegetarian it's helpful to eat beans, whole grains (both high in iron), eggs, fish, and nuts to provide what you won't get due to your lack of protein-rich meats.

  4. I eat         s all the time. They are delicious. They're not the best for being high in protein though so vary it up. I eat lot of spinach, which is very high in protein. Nuts in general are high in protein. Also, there are meat substitutes from companies like Morning Star Farms, Gimme Lean, Yves, and Boca which have lots of protein and iron in them. Egg whites have protein if you are an ovo-vegetarian. There are tons of vegetables with protein, like beans. And if you're still lacking, you can always take a vitamin supplement.

  5. Not sure bout protein content of shrooms but portabellos can be as rich and as filling as a steak---ever had portobello burger---awesome and very filling.

  6. Mushrooms aren't included in this list of high-protein vegetarian foods: http://www.tryveg.com/cfi/toc/?v=08sourc...

  7. No, mushrooms don't have enough protein to be a meat substitute.  However, they are good to include in foods for people new to being veggie, and who miss the texture of meat.
