As father of the groom what speech am i expected to make?

traditionally only the father of the bride, the groom and the best man make speeches, but at my wedding my hubbys father got up and made a speech.

I don't think you are required to give a speech. It's usually the best man, maid of honor and the father or the bride

You MAY be asked to say "a few words" at the Rehearsal Dinner . . and you MAY be asked to "give a toast" at the reception.  Keep it short and simple!!

Usually it is the best man and maid of honour that make the speeches, but you can just wish the newly weds much luck.
