whenever an online item is sold as-is, does it usually turn out that there is something wrong with it?

  1. Assuming you are referring to eBay, read the description carefully, and ask them any questions that you feel unsure on. Just as importantly, see what people say about the seller via their feedback.

    As a seller, buyers can cause as more problems than you would probably be aware, buyers not reading descriptions then complaining about the smallest misunderstandings is not uncommon by any means, hence the 'as is' is more often used to give the seller something to fall back upon should a dispute arise.  Be sure they garentee the device (if applicable) that it is not DOA (dead on arrival) and they offer a refund is it is.

    As a general rule, there is nothing wrong, asking questions never hurts, and is good idea if you are unsure.

  3. it means the buyer won't guarantee it but knows something is wrong but just not sure what it is personally i pass on those
