    Great question!!

    My best guess is that when the rivers dump the fresh water, it goes under the salt water, because it is heavier, and since it flows under the ocean for a ways, the saltwater mixes in at some point.

    Hey, I'm just looking for point plateaus on these kinds of questions!!

While the great majority of the moisture that falls as rain came from evaporation of ocean water, the evaporation leaves the salt behind (for the most part, though some microscopic salt nuclei is in the air near coastal areas).  The condensation of water vapor in the clouds wherein rain is produced is fresh water.

  4. That IS a good question.  Water in the sea is drawn into the

    earth and circulates through salt deposits which are plentiful.

    Its a continuous event.
