As strange as this may sound, Is there any possible way to make an old mac run only microsoft software?

I am curious if there is any possible way to completely turn an old mac into a PC? I know there are some die hard mac people out there who will feel very betrayed by this question, so please feel free not to comment if you have nothing productive to say.

  1. No.  You have to have some Mac OS first.


  2. well, you could try to install a virtual machine software. (see below). but you will need a hardware configuration that can run BOTH operating systems (i.e. M$ windows and MacOS). I really doubt that an old mac can do this. (I mean, well, it was equipped to run MacOS, but it will need an additional - at least!- 128 MB of RAM to run win98SE or XP and even more to run M$ office on top of that!)...
