  1. well i dont live in NJ but i do surf (kinda...) and i dont really ever get afaid about sharks. i know that there could be some there but i guess for me its just one of those oh-no-it-couldnt-happen-to-me things. although my bf says that you are most likely to get bitten by a shark while on a surf board because something about when you paddleing you look like a seal and sharks like seals. i dont really know about that i think he was just trying to creep me... are there even sharks in NJ isnt it like too cold or something.... yeah well idn

  2. If you are surfing, try not to lay on the board on your stomach paddling out, or have orlegs on the board not the water becasue there was this story about a surfer ( not to scare you ) and he was paddling out and was bit by a shark in the leg.  But as soon as the shark bit him, he let go because man taste more metallic than other animals and scientists came to discover that the only reason he was attacked was that the way he was laying on the board reminded the shark of a seal.  Most sharks won't attack people, but watch out for Great white Sharks mostly.  if someone starts to bleed, get out becasue blood attracts sharks. Hope I helped.

  3. I am a professional surfer mate... and I go everywhere and surf...like literally everywhere. I have never actually encountered a shark myself but I have met Bethany Hamilton, who is among one of my heroes because even though she got bit she still had the nerve to get back out there and surf. Getting bit by a shark is really unlikely and I am sure you will do fine. My whole theory of surfing though is if you don't mess with the ocean (creatures and what not) it won't mess with you. I say don't worry about it and have fun!

  4. sharks arent really a big deal they will eb out there and you will see them but they wont bother you sharks being attracted to human blood is a myth also if you see a shark get off yor board and go vertical

  5. as a surfer i cant say im not scared & the thought doesnt cross my mind, it does, and i surf down in ocean city maryland, sure there sharks everywhere, but dont think about it,just have fun with surfing, and the chances of you getting attack & dieing are slim to none,& if you get bit by a shark [ you prob wont tho ] then you wont be as scared of it happening again, but just have fun with it , and remember its there home, not ours

  6. If you want to start surfing, you definatly get over your fear of sharks. I live in florida and i see a shark almost everytime i paddle out. What helps me not to be afraid is just trying not to think about it. also if it makes you feel better you can paddle out with your feet up so you dont look like a seal. As for the sharks in New Jearsy, there not to many than grow big, but there is the blue shark, that can grow pretty big, but just dont think about it and have fun. Heres a true fact, your more likly to die from a coconut falling on your head than a shark bite.
