  1. I think stock piling, watching how you spend you money and growing your own food might help you out especially if you hit a rough patch and for articf0 even educated people can get fired. depending on what you education is in and whether there is a demand for that type of work you may also have difficulties finding a job.

  2. Doesn't that depend on one's preparation?

Once we've fallen to the bottom of that cavern, our dollar will be worthless, and we will have to depend on real resources if we are to survive.  All goods will be increasingly scarce, in part because delivery of goods will be unreliable or non-existent.  Utilities & communication systems may become unavailable (then how do we pump gas even if we can trade for it?).

Those who have stockpiled food will not have to cut corners, of course, and if one's stockpiles are ample, trading food to fulfill other wants and needs may provide great benefits.

  3. No. I have a job.

  4. Yes. What I do is this: 1) eat out much less; 2) avoid buying prepared foods; 3) i bought a small freezer and with discounts at omaha steak for a package; 4) bought protein powder for meal replacement with water; 5) cut back on cereal and use yogurt; 6) shop at aldi; 7) eat smaller lunch; 8) started growing a garden.
