As the hurricane reached cancun in mexico yet........?

i have friends holidaying there, i heard on the news that hurricane felix is winging it's way there, any info please would be grateful.

I know this is easy for me to say but please don't worry about your friends.

Looks as if Felix will hit poor Chetumal and Mahahual, Mexico again and not Cancun. That area is 4-hours south  from Cancun.

The governor of Quintana Roo (that is the state we are in) learned a lot from Wilma and he used that knowledge very successfully to prepare for Dean and I am sure he will use that same knowledge for any other storm. Tourism is the product that is sold here and it is very well protected.

As it happens guys n gals....Felix is way off...it'll be passing my shabby carribbean property overnight Sept2, 2007 about 2am.

It will reach Cancun a few days later.

I suggest you refer to weather underground....just google it.

It's not currently projected to hit Cancun. Landfall is currently forecast for Wednesday well south around Belize. Of course that can change. Below is the wunderground link the first poster mentioned.
