As toilet starts to fill after flush,loud rattle occurs in water line .don't know what to do.?

I have to shut off water supply line. cannot turn it back on even just a little bit because of the noise. This all started when I went on vacation and turned off the house water supply for about l week.

Sound like there could be air in the lines from shutting it off. Turn all faucets on full and let them run for a minute or two. Then go flush all toilest once or twice That should clear any air out.

Toilets seem to be the last appliance to hold air in the lines.

There is air in the lines. This happens when you turn off the water and then turn it back on. Just run it a couple of times and the air should work it's way out. I know it sounds like h**l but it really doesn't hurt anything.
