As venue changes, Game 3 of the World Series is expected to be high-scoring – MLB World Series
Game 3 of the World Series between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Texas Rangers is expected to be a high-scoring one, thanks to the fame Arlington has. Unlike St. Louis where temperature mostly remains low, in the Texas city the forecast is that of a rise
in temperature.
As the experts contend, the warmer temperatures mostly help the ball fly further. So there it will be a tremendous challenge for the pitchers to constantly face the big hitters in Arlington. With Mitch Moreland and Allen Craig representing the Rangers, the
Cardinals’ starter will be looking to avoid big hits.
The starter for the Cardinals is Edwin Jackson. He knows well the variation that not only his pitches will experience but also the fact that balls fly further. However, he attaches a lot of hope to the team offence to do something magical on Saturday, October
22.
"It's no secret," said Edwin Jackson, the Cardinals' scheduled starter. "The ball definitely flies here. Everybody knows it. All 30 teams know it. But at the end of the day, it flies both ways."
While the Texas Rangers have remained a heavily scoring team throughout the regular season and the post-season games, the St. Louis Cardinals have some of the biggest hitters in the team to boast. Starting from David Freese to David Pujols, there is nothing
that the Cardinals will fear.
That is what the Texas Rangers’ starter knows full well.
"[David] Freese and [Albert] Pujols, [Matt] Holliday, they've got power, and the ball is going to carry a little more here at our park," Rangers’ Game 3 starter Matt Harrison said. "So I've got to make sure I keep the ball down."
Anyone who keeps the balls down, say the experts will have encounter less hits. A look at both the teams brings to fore the fact that the Rangers have pitchers who are groundball-oriented. This proposition is an undeniable fact. However, the St. Louis Cardinals
know how best to grapple with the challenges. That, the team hopes, will help them weather the storm.
