  1. D bob up and down as the wave passes. It does not advance towards, nor move away from shore.  The only thing that could move that object is an ocean current.  


  2. D - Until the wave moves close to a shore (and therefore shallow water), the surface does not actually move along, the water stays in the same position, it just moves up and down. The object in the water would therefore do the same.
